I will never forget Matt and Melissa’s wedding weekend! Melissa and I have a few mutual friends from her hometown in Upstate NY- I was honored that they chose me to capture their wedding in Charlotte, NC which she and Matt are calling home now.

The weekend of the wedding was October 1st, and hurricane Ian was making its way up the coast and there were predictions Charlotte would be hit. My husband and I landed in Charlotte and I’m pretty sure the airport closed soon after we landed. There was a bit of rain but the next day (wedding day!) we woke up to a perfectly dry and overcast day! We were all so thankful! It’s crazy to think back that we were up against a hurricane but, they’re married and that’s what matters most! It came together to be a beautiful day which I wasn’t doubting that it would be although I was prepared for photos in the rain. 🙂

Melissa opted for a classic dusty blue color palette which was so beautiful and timeless. The couple and their bridal parties got ready at the Canopy by Hilton Charlotte Southpark and then said I do at a church nearby, with the sweetest bubble exit! We went back to the hotel for formal portraits and Chic Fil A for the bride, and celebrated the rest of the night! I loved spending the weekend in Charlotte and exploring a little bit before we caught our flight home.
